Atheistic naturalists and fundamentalist Christians agree on little. But they generally agree that one cannot be a Christian and believe in an ancient, vast universe and an old earth filled with life forms governed by the laws of natural selection. Yet, there exists a thriving community of scientists who do believe in the fundamental laws of physics and biology and are also committed Christian believers. In this six-week class, the participants will examine perceived points of tension between science and religion and how theologians and scientists have tried to resolve that tension. This course will be loosely based on the book “The Language of Science and Faith” by Francis Collins and Karl Giberson. The book is readily available from Amazon and other sources but purchase is not essential for participation in the class.

“Our guiding vision comes from the words of Jesus. ‘From the believers will flow living waters.’ - John 7:38”
