Wrapped in God’s Love

There is no denying that RB Community and our neighbors have stretched the loving arms of God around those who need warm outerwear. Seven carloads of jackets, coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, and pants have been delivered to the following non-profit agencies: ALPHA Project, Interfaith Community Services, New Day Urban Ministries, PUSD Youth in Transition, Salvation Army, Solutions for Change, STEP, and Veterans Village. Several people at the drive-thru event said, “I have wanted to clean out closets … I just needed a reason to do it.” And from the agency people helping to unload the car, we would hear, “WOW! That’s a lot of clothing, Thank You!” SOUPER BOWL of CARING is happening on Saturday, February 7 (9:00-11 in the upper parking lot) and on Sunday, February 8, before and after the worship services. Please consider bringing canned goods, boxed food items, or a check made out to New Day Urban Ministries. All food donations will be delivered to Interfaith Community Services or New Day. Thank you to the Carpenters Fellowship group for taking the lead on this event and to the Boy Scouts for helping. THE SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK will be on campus on February 15 from 8:00-1:00 in the Lower Fireside room. You can set up a family account or donate to the church account. Many times, a blood transfusion is one of the life-saving procedures needed after an accident or during surgery. You can register at: https://www.mysdbb.org/donor/ schedules/drive_schedule/86613 SAVE THE DATE: RB Community will be packing 30,000 meals in the upper parking lot on Saturday, March 21. We need 100 people to make this happen. The Missions Committee partners with Kids Around the World to sponsor this fast and fun event. All packed meals are donated to Baja Presbyterian Missions to distribute to refugees and those dealing with food insecurity in Baja, CA. May the warm love of God continue to flow through you and out to others as we serve in our local communities. Elaine Johnson, Outreach Coordinator
