“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
Dear Beloved RB Community Family, Faithful Children of God,
Grace to you and Peace,
As I reflect on the celebration of my 30th year of ministry among you, my heart is filled with gratitude. Thank you for your love, kindness, cards, gifts, and, of course, the beautiful way you celebrated this milestone with me and my family, all in blue!
Looking back, I see far more than thirty years of ministry. I see the faithfulness of God and His grace at work in and through you, His people. Over these years, I have had the privilege of watching the words of Jesus, “Let your light shine before others,” come alive through RB Community.
I have seen the light of Christ shine through you as you worshiped, cared for children and families, visited the sick, comforted the grieving, served older adults, walked alongside the lonely, and quietly helped those in need. In these and countless other acts of love and compassion. Because of you, Christ has been made visible in our community.
I have also watched that light shine across the world. Through your prayers, generosity, and faithful partnership, the ministries and missions of RB Community have shared the gospel, strengthened pastors and churches, served children and vulnerable families, supported widows, orphanages, and refugees, and carried the good news of Jesus Christ to many places around the world.
Whenever I have traveled to Egypt, I have carried RB Community with me. You were there through your prayers, generosity, encouragement, and partnership in the gospel.
After thirty years, one truth has become deeply rooted in my heart: local and global mission are not separate callings, but one mission from one Lord. Whether across the street or across the world, the geography may change, but our calling remains the same, to make Christ known as we reflect His light wherever He sends us.
I am deeply humbled by your love. Thank you! You have been, and continue to be, a tremendous blessing to me and my family. It has been one of the great privileges of my life to serve Christ alongside you.
To God Alone Be the Glory
The church does not create its own light. We reflect a light that is not our own—the light of Jesus Christ. Therefore, our calling remains the same: “Let your light shine before others.”
I pray, may the Lord continue to bless our beloved RB Community and cause His light to shine brightly through us—in our congregation, throughout our community, and around the world—not so that people will see how great we are, but so that through us they may see how great our God is.
May the Lord bless and keep us as we continue, together, to reflect the light of Christ across the street and across the world, for the glory of our Father in heaven.
In Christ,
Pastor Mofid Wasef
