After cleaning classrooms and a couple of days off, several teachers returned to teach summer camp. Our first week was about Superheroes. We learned that we all have superpowers like using kind words, making friends, problem-solving, and other super skills. We made capes and masks along with other fun art activities and playground games. Our second week was called “Everyone is an Artist”. Each day we talked about a different famous artist and made our own Georgia O’Keeffe-inspired, red poppies, Van Gogh’s sunflowers, collage art like Eric Carle’s books, and more. What a fun, sunny time! In the office, we continue to work through the summer, closing out records of wonderful children moving on to kindergarten, inputting new student information into our system, working on staffing, setting up classes, and preparing for the teachers and children to return in August. Along those lines, we are looking to hire a couple of compassionate staff who have a heart for young children, sharing God’s love, and the joys of learning about our world.
