Give Thanks

As Thanksgiving approaches, it feels especially fitting to reflect on the thankfulness we share as a church. RB Community is in a season marked by hope, growth, and renewed connection. You can sense it on Sunday mornings, in the hallways, and even in the small moments that don’t look fancy at all.

Recently, our students and their parents shared dinner during our Wednesday night program. There were no tables, just everyone sitting on the floor, picnic-style, balancing plates of chicken tenders, French fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and lemonade. The food may have been the highlight for the students, but the real joy came from seeing generations gather, talk, and laugh together. It felt simple… and it felt full.

Moments like this remind us that God builds community through both big celebrations and everyday connections. Whether we share a meal in a crowded room, around a family table, or through a quiet visit to someone who cannot join us, we reflect the love of Christ each time we make space for one another.

As we enter a holiday that can be joyous for some and quieter for others, may we hold onto the gratitude that is growing here, gratitude rooted not just in what we do, but in who God is making us to be as a family of faith.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:1)

Happy Thanksgiving, RB Community. May this season of hope and gratitude continue to gather us, bless us, and draw us closer in the love of Christ. Richard Klusmeier
