Reflection For March 28

We live in a free and blessed nation where people can talk openly, and they can decide what faith they want to follow. Yet, the execution of John the Baptist demonstrated how speaking the truth of God could lead to persecution and death. Elijah, Jeremiah, and Daniel are examples of how they were persecuted, beaten, imprisoned, or thrown in the lions’ den for being faithful to God. The good news is that Jesus Himself, through the cross, defeated evil through sacrificial love. We have a relationship with the Lord. God hears us. He is with us always.

There are false prophets who represent modern philosophies and ideas that contradict biblical truth. The Beatitude (Matthew 5:10) still applies that we are called to stand for the Gospel. Believers are encouraged to “rejoice and be glad” because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them. We can pray for those globally who suffer for their faith. We can continue to grow spiritually through sermons, classes, and helping others understand God. One of the songs from last week was “Lord, I Need You” with the words – “I find my rest here with you.”

We are blessed by God. We have a family of faith. Even though the world may present challenges or deceptions, the love of Christ provides a permanent victory. We get strength in our faith. God is with us ALWAYS.
