Coastal Communities Concert Band Presents: “43rd ANNIVERSARY CONCERT”
The Coastal Communities Concert Band (CCCBand), an award-winning symphonic band of more than 75 musicians from throughout San Diego County will present their 43rd Anniversary Concert on Saturday, March 7 at 4:00 p.m. at the Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, 17010 Pomerado Road, San Diego, CA 92128. The concert will feature guest soloist, trombonist Alex Iles. One of the Los Angeles area’s most sought-after musicians, Iles has performed with the LA Phil, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony, top jazz bands and on hundreds of film and television soundtracks. He’s recorded with legends from Barbara Streisand to Paul McCartney and toured with Maynard Ferguson and the Woody Herman Orchestra.
The concert will be directed by Conductor Mitch Fennell and Associate Conductor Bruce Mansfield. Dr. Fennell is Professor Emeritus and retired, Director of Bands and Coordinator of Wind Studies at Cal State Fullerton. He joined the School of Music Faculty at CSUF in 1986 and during his tenure he conducted the University Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds and the University Band.
Dr. Mansfield is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Point Loma Nazarene University, where he leads the Concert and Jazz Bands and coordiates the university’s Music Education program.
