The Easter service was fabulous! Christ is alive! The tomb is empty! He is risen indeed! We had a powerful experience of reflecting on Jesus’ resurrection and its implications for life today. The song titled “Is He Worthy?” was calming, loving, and a truly learning experience about who God is. It had the words: “Is He Worthy? He is. Does the Father truly love us? He does. Does the Spirit move among us? He does.” No matter what He is there for us and loves us. We were prompted with the question: Have you ever given up? No doubt many could answer this question with a yes. Sometimes we feel lost, and we don’t know what to do or how to move forward. How does it feel when someone offers you a hand to help you? Someone has come along side you to care and help. In the scripture from John, he found how Jesus can give us life. He comes to offer us a hand and an abundant life. The resurrection is a new beginning and a taste of heavenly life with God sending Jesus to bring heaven to earth. We can gather to find strength. We are the people of Jesus to help others. God shows us our next step. We have a new understanding of life. This message of offered help and abundant life resonated deeply with the work I'm involved in. I am working on another Ministry Bookmark to hand out in May. The ministry is Congregational Care. I met with some of the people involved in this ministry on Tuesday and then came home to type up a first draft. Next I typed in this article. The connection is that Congregational Care offers a hand to others in this congregation and the community. They are there for us in so many ways! They are living out and helping us to see how Jesus can give us life. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
