The theme of last week’s sermon was being clothed by God, transitioning from shame to glory through faith in Jesus. We need to trust in Jesus. We need to be the believers and to be the hand to reach out and find calmness in our faith. We can be clothed with righteousness. God clothed Joshua with glorious garments that reflected his new, righteous status before God. Believers are not just forgiven but are accepted and honored. Adam and Eve were initially naked and unashamed, but after their sin, they became aware of their nakedness and tried to hide. God clothed them with animal skins. Noah experienced shame after becoming drunk and exposed. God provides us with restoration and takes care of us. God removes guilt and forgives sin by His grace. We are transformed and raised with Christ to “walk in newness of life”. We have virtues like compassion, kindness, humility, and love. We are transformed day by day. The Call to Worship said, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.” Thank you to everyone who is part of this church and walking with God each day. We are making a difference with each other and for those in need in this world. Reflections from Deborah Kelly. Share your reflections with deborah@rbcommunity.org and let me know your thoughts.
