NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER THEME: “PRAY GOD’S GLORY ACROSS THE EARTH” Habakkuk 2:14
There will be no sign-ups this year for ½ hr. time slots on May 7th, the National Day of Prayer.
Instead…it is “ALL HANDS ON DECK”, our whole congregation is being called up, to serve as “Prayer Warriors”; just as Gideon was called in Judges 6:12 (When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” (Gideon was a frightened farmer.) Then, he was empowered to do God’s work in the world, and so will we!
HOW TO P-R-A-Y:
PRAISE…praise God for who he is; comforter, savior, healer, refuge, strength. Thank Him for what He has already done and what He will do, according to His will.
REPENT..confess your sins, personally, and on behalf of our nation and the world. He forgives. ASK…ask God to reveal truth, turn our hearts back to Him, and bring healing.
YIELD…yield to the Lord and recognize that He has heard our prayers and answers in His will.

“Heavenly Father, we turn to You in prayer not panic in response to this pandemic. We praise You as our Almighty Creator and Sustainer. You are the author of our days, our refuge and strength. Lord, we humbly ask that you push back and remove this virus from us; glorify Yourself in this national and global emergency. We cry out to You in unified prayer:
Give COMFORT to those who have suffered loss of family and friends and those who are currently ill, we ask that you heal them. Give COURAGE to those who are fearful and anxious, not knowing what to do while they are quarantined, and that they would acknowledge Your presence and power. You will never leave us or forsake us. Give PROVISION to those out of work and those businesses that have been affected, and connect them with resources at this time.
Give WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, and UNDERSTANDING to those researching and responding to the pandemic, that you will work in and through them. Give PROTECTION for hospital/nursing home staffs, doctors, nurses, lab techs, first responders, military personnel, grocery/delivery/pharmacy workers, and all who work on the front lines every day. Give them and their families peace. COVER OUR WORLD WITH YOUR LOVE; show us how to care for our neighbors who may need our help.
PLEASE GUIDE AND DIRECT our national, state, and local leaders who are making decisions for us…Lord, that they will trust You and make the safest decisions for the population they serve, teach, entertain, and employ. Continue to pour out Your creativity on us in the methods of staying connected and productive through technology.
We pray that this unprecedented time would be used to draw nearer to You and our families. We have the time now, to rightly reset and prioritize our relationship with You and our family. Let us draw near to You in faith as our Father and our fortress. Deliver us from this disease and let Your glory fill the earth as You respond to our prayers. AMEN”
