Jim Rauch has been serving as a pastor in the Presbytery of San Diego since 1986. He served churches in Chula Vista, Escondido, and Spring Valley. As part of his service in Presbytery, Jim served as Moderator of Session at RBCPC for 18 months during the church’s last interim period.
Jim received a B.A. in Economics from UCSD, and an M.Div. from Princeton Seminary.
Jim and his wife Elizabeth have a son, Samuel, who graduated from Cal Poly SLO and now lives in Tucson, AZ. They have a daughter, Jesse, and son-in-law Tyler who are graduates of Azusa Pacific University. They have two grandchildren, Nora and Everett who live nearby in Escondido. Nora is a “graduate” of RBCPC preschool, and Everett currently attends.
Jim grew up on the Palos Verdes Peninsula with five younger sisters. Jim’s main recreational pursuits are mountain biking, rowing, and home improvement projects. He and Elizabeth also help care for their parents.
His favorite Bible verse is from Jesus in John 8:12 – “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
