Our Family Ministry continues to be one of the most exciting, life-giving areas of our church. Every Wednesday night, middle school and high school students gather for a program filled with laughter, worship, small groups, and meaningful conversations about faith. These are formative years for our students, and our church has a unique opportunity to come alongside them in this season.
Because of recent staffing changes, we are looking for more volunteers to join the Family Ministry team and help us carry out this important work. Every role we fill will strengthen our program, allow me to serve with continued passion, and help prevent burnout so that our ministry can flourish for the long haul. Here are some specific ways you could step in and make an impact:
Small Group Leaders (4 needed): From 7:30–8:00pm each Wednesday, we need adults to lead conversations in small groups. While the official time commitment is 30 minutes, the greatest impact comes from fully engaging with students throughout the evening. More than anything, students need caring adults who will listen, encourage, and show them they are loved.
Hospitality Team: Help us create an environment where every student who walks through our doors feels seen, welcomed, and loved. A smile, a greeting, or a thoughtful gesture can make all the difference for a teenager.
Tech Booth Support: A minimal-technical-skill role where you’ll help with slides, sound, or lights during the program. We’ll provide all the training you need—it’s easier than you think!
Worship Leadership: If you have musical gifts, consider helping lead our students in worship. Whether you sing, play guitar, or support behind the scenes, this is a chance to guide students into meaningful moments of praise.
Game Hosts: Help bring the energy up front by running games! Students love when adults join in on the fun—it’s a great way to build trust and relationships.
Teaching Partners: If you feel confident with public speaking, I’d love for you to come alongside me in teaching during our sermon series. Working together ensures students hear God’s Word in fresh, engaging ways.
No matter your role, you won’t be doing this alone. We’ll provide everything you need to succeed and will walk with you every step of the way. More importantly, your presence and investment will remind our students that they are valued, cared for, and supported by their church family.
If you’ve ever thought about serving with students, now is the time! Your influence could make a lasting difference in a young person’s life.
