Did you know...God is with us

Last week when I wrote this column, I had no idea that everything would be shutting down including our live church classes and worship services. I was worried about how the time change would be impacting our schedules, yet now we have new concerns that are even larger. We are fasting on classes but still get to feast on our online worship service.

There have been more than 1200 views of the online worship service, and there are over 100 positive comments to thank Bryan, Liz, Luke, and John for their efforts to make that service possible. Wow! We do love our church and are so appreciative of how we can impact the community with God beside us.

Some of us are so happy to have things drop off of our calendars due to shutting things down. Yet, now we are isolated. We can get on our computers or watch TV to see what is happening in the world, but we don’t have the direct connection with others. We can’t hug our friends or shake hands to greet each other with love. I can't tell you what happened to me last week or hear about your week in a face-to-face engagement.

I saw a post on Facebook from a friend who said he heard church bells when he was walking to his car that were playing “Let There be Peace on Earth”. He reflected on the lyrics: “To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.” Feel God’s peace, and pray for us to find that peace in our lives during this time.

The Elders have approved a Response Team where you can call or text to 858-267-3293 for our most senior members who are most vulnerable and isolated members. Someone will respond to you.

These are different times, but God is with us. RB Community Church is here and will respond. We love our community.
