Craft Fair Update

Wow! What a great Craft Fair! This long-running community event serves to benefit our preschool financially, but also benefits vendors, shoppers, and volunteers. With all the work that goes into it, it’s always a blessing to get to know the many people involved. We are still collecting vendor donations and finalizing costs, but have raised about $6,000 so far. As I looked back and considered this event, there are so many people to thank. MANY THANKS to Dana Lunde (preschool parent) for heading up this major event. Thanks to preschool parents who volunteered at the event, put up signs in the neighborhood, baked (and baked!), and donated baked goods. I’m grateful to the teachers who volunteered their time for a variety of tasks: Arriving early Friday to help with set up Time in the bake sale room, pricing and setting up baskets of goodies Greeting guests, collecting email addresses, and donations Manning the Opportunity Drawing table and Bake Sale Making beautiful frosted leaf cookies and other yummy treats for the Bake Sale, making beautiful quilted items to sell, and for the Opportunity Drawing Participating in the Carnival on Friday Saturday take-down and clean up Counting Opportunity Drawing tickets after the event Stephanie Camerino for promoting the event and vendors on our social media sites!! Many thanks to the facilities team- Gabby, Adam, Allan, Le’Jon, and Monica for all the work they put in to make sure lights were working, building was ready, doors locked and unlocked, AC running, bathrooms cleaned, trash emptied, coffee made, and much more. Thanks to:

The church safety team was with us throughout the event. Richard and Steven, who plan, promote, and run the carnival with the youth. What a gift for the preschool! Joyce for making sure we had kitchen needs, volunteers, and any hospitality needs covered. Luke helps with technical items, advertising, and setting up the music so the holiday feel is in the air. Mike Hughes for placing ads in the local papers. The Boy Scouts for help packing up and cleaning up on Saturday.

And THANKS to the many church volunteers! All this to show HOW MANY people it takes for this annual event to work. Somehow, God brings everyone together and all the details and it works for many and blesses many. I’m grateful for all who volunteer time and give parts of yourself to support our school for this and other events. Thank you! I appreciate you so much! (If I missed someone, I apologize!) We are still collecting vendor donations and finalizing costs but have raised about $6,000 so far. What do we use these funds for? Many things. But, most often, our Craft Fair funds are used for large purchase items. At the end of the school year last year, we installed new astro turf on the playground. Last week we were able to repaint the posts and replace canvases for two of our large shades that cover parts of our playground. We are so grateful for the funds raised that keep our preschool a quality school in the community.
